Mark your calendars! March 16, 2019 is the next VisionZero Conference in Philadelphia. Organized by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, Vision Zero for Philadelphia takes place at Temple University and will bring together leading experts, elected officials and members of the public to share opportunities and best practices for creating local roadways that respect all human dignity and eliminate traffic deaths.
"The Bicycle Coalition's goals for the fourth Vision Zero forum in Philadelphia are to illustrate the challenges to making city streets that respect human dignity and to highlight what the city can and will be doing in the long and short term to address those issues," said Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia Executive Director Sarah Clark Stuart.
The conference's program will begin with opening remarks from Coralette Marshall Hannon, Senior Legislative Representative of AARP, Darrell Clarke, City Council President, and Brian Abernathy, Managing Director.
Conference-goers will also hear from Veronica Davis, Coralette Hannon of AARP, Deputy Managing Director Brian Abernathy and Mayor Jim Kenney. Topics range from planning, equity and implementation challenges and opportunities, such as managing freight in urban environments, protected bike lanes, neighborhood listening sessions, project delivery, organizing families of traffic victims and a traffic calming monopoly game.
