A Pennsylvania Perspective on Innovation and Legislation.
TMACC is proud to present this Zoominar update on the progress and future of Autonomous Vehicles in Pennsylvania. The Keystone state continues to be on the cutting edge in AV technology, testing, and development.
AVs have the potential to revolutionize transportation mobility and safety, and Pennsylvania has emerged as a leader in on-road testing of these vehicles.
Guest Speakers include Mark Kopko, Director - Office of Transformational Technology, PA Department of Transportation, his role includes the management of all activities related to emerging technology. Mark is also co-chair of the AASHTO CAV Working Group, chairs the Smart Belt Coalition, sits on the I-95 Corridor Coalition?s CAV Leadership Team, and represents Pennsylvania on numerous national working groups and committees. In addition, Mark also leads the deployment of the Pennsylvania Safety Transportation and Research Track (PennSTART), oversees smart city initiatives, and manages multiple university-led initiatives.
Stan Caldwell is the Executive Director, Traffic21 Institute and the USDOT-designated Mobility21 National University Transportation Center at Carnegie Mellon University. These research centers support faculty and students, from across the university, in technology-focused transportation education and research, with an emphasis on real-world deployment with public and private partners. He is the curator of the industry-recognized Smart Transportation Dispatch blog and newsletter, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Transportation and Public Policy in CMU?s Heinz College where he teaches courses in intelligent transportation systems.
