PARK(ing) Day 2019

PARK(ing) Day challenges us to rethink how we are making the best decisions and use of our limited urban spaces. How can you transform a parking space in your community into a parklet?

FIT, powered by TMACC is hosting its 4^th Annual PARK(ing) Day in Chester County.  PARK(ing) Day is an annual open-source global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary mini-parks or parklets. TMACC loves celebrating the day because it rethinks the use of the parking space; if we were to reduce one single-occupancy vehicle, we could redesign the unused parking space into something beneficial for you!

This is a time to engage your employees in team exercise by planning and staffing a unique parklet in your community; what a way to market your business for a day! We hope your company and team takes up the challenge of creating a parklet in your town!

All you will need is to secure a parking space* for the day and think of a unique idea for your park.  It can be anything: a pop-up library, a yoga studio, an outdoor art exhibit; the sky is the limit.
