Description

Annual TDM Awards and Spring Membership Breakfast

On May 11 at the Downingtown Country Club, TMACC will host its annual TDM Awards and Spring Membership breakfast to celebrate multimodal and TDM success in Chester County.

This year’s breakfast speaker will be Heather A. Martin, AICP, Assistant Vice President and Senior Lead Equity Consultant from WSP. With more grants being tied to outcomes and Chester County builds out multimodal options, designs must be inclusive for all especially vulnerable users. Through her experiences, Martin will share her insights on ways to integrate equity into infrastructure projects to achieve more equitable outcomes.

“This event was born out of Act 89.” states Tim Phelps, Executive Director. “During Governor Corbett’s signing in Audubon, it was stated that “We need to celebrate both large and small investments in our multimodal infrastructure.” And today we still recognize these investments.”

So, who will you nominate for an award?

The TMACC Annual TDM Awards seek to recognize Transportation Demand Management/ multimodal projects and studies, and the people are advocating for them. The nomination can be for a specific project, study, or people that represent the core principles of what TDM is. TDM is defined as providing travelers with effective choices to improve travel which encourages people to use transit, ridesharing, walking, biking, and telework which then decreases traffic congestion, improves system efficiency and reliability, and improves the quality of life.

Think sustainability (carbon reduction), advocacy, connectivity, community, and investment. These nominations should help reduce congestion, create multimodal options, and improve the quality of air and life in Chester County.

Applications for the Annual Member Awards are open to all current members in good standing and projects they may be affiliated with. Projects and studies that have
been completed in the past three years are eligible.

Deadline for submissions is 4.28.2023

Please submit your proposed nomination for project, study, or person/ people proposed nomination to Tim Phelps, tphelps@tmacc.org, for eligibility review.
